Welcome to Ysgol Gymraeg Pen y Garth!

It was a privilege to start as headteacher of Ysgol Pen y Garth in January 2023. I promised that I would work diligently to ensure the best possible for the pupils and staff.

Our goal at Ysgol Gymraeg Pen y Garth is that everyone feels happy, safe and  important at school. Making sure we celebrate each other is important to us, we follow the saying “Accept our similarities…Celebrate our differences”. We place a strong focus on relationships in the school and we strongly believe that relationships underpin everything we do.

Our expectations of all of our pupils are high and we aim for the highest standards in everything we do.

The Curriculum leaders work hard to plan valuable and interesting experiences, knowledge and skills for our pupils. Extracurricular activities are also very important to us. Our staff and pupils have experienced a great deal of success on the Sports fields and on the Eisteddfod stage with Dance, Singing and Art.

Our intention as a school is to nurture and develop all pupils as confident individuals who are proud of their school, their language and their culture. We encourage our pupils to be polite, respectful and grateful on all occasions.

The welfare of pupils and staff is very important at Pen y Garth. We set aside time to ensure that the welfare of staff and pupils is a priority. We have a well-being day every half term where the pupils and staff learn and develop essential skills and also develop the relationship between them even more.

You are more than welcome to call the school to arrange a visit with us! Welcome to Pen y Garth!
